Merci

Sorry, but grandstanding isn’t what I (we?) voted you into office for. We voted you into to help move the city forward. To become more financially responsible. To bring new ideas and make tough decisions. All that you have brought are empty promises and a need to be constantly in the public eye, say perhaps as a “rock star”. We’ll, we already have Ray Emery..I think that’s enough for one city.
One other small detail…how much of my tax paying money contributed to your wedding reception at City Hall? Lights, Air Conditioning, power, even staff…I’d love to see the bill you we’re sent for all of this? Responsibility eh?

Methinks this “citizen & employee of Ottawa” should leave his/name - might lend a bit more “credibility” —- would your initial be K.K. perhaps? lol

Actually Mr. Shea, the same thoughts that “citizen & employee of Ottawa” had crossed my mind when I read the story in the paper. Did my tax dollars (which incidentally have gone up) help to pay for the reception at City Hall, etc. Also, is City Hall available to anyone who would like to hold their reception there?
I thought when Mayor O’Brien was elected that he would be good for the city but all I see is someone who takes advantage of his position to further his own “rock star” image.

lol - Another “Citizen of Ottawa” speaking out ! - if you want credibility - sign your name.
Our current problems at City Hall run far deeper than someone holding a reception at City Hall - our problems are with the current crop of Councillors who have been here far too long and who have no desire to work with this Mayor to achieve positive results for this City. Think about it for a nanosecond …. if significat positive results were to be achieved, then wouldn’t that be a very bad reflection of the poor work these Councillors have done for years and years ???? Hmmmmmm

If all we have to worry about in this City is the fact that our Mayor held a reception at City Hall on the occasion of his marriage - then we have little or nothing to worry about.
The fact is - we should be concentrating our energies on the fact that this Council refuse to work as a Team with our Mayor! That is the real problem in this City today.
