Official Welcome of the Olympic Flame to Ottawa City Hall
Today, Mayor O’Brien and City Council welcomed the Olympic Flame to Ottawa City Hall as it was carried by the City of Ottawa’s official Olympic torchbearer Mélissa Brunet. As part of the ceremony, the Olympic Flag was raised in Marion Dewar Plaza where it shall fly until the conclusion of the 2010 Olympic Games.
Special guests included the Honourable Jim Watson MPP, the Honourable Madeleine Meilleur, Yasir Naqvi MPP, Minister Gary Lunn, Minister John Baird, and BC Premier Gordon Campbell. Olympic medallists Barbara Ann Scott, Sue Holloway, Elizabeth Manley, Rob Marland and Greg Joy were also in attendance.

it was quite a shock to walk outside with my dog and by chance see the flame run by with all the police cars. what a neat surprise.
