It’s Opening Day in Ottawa

Tonight Ottawa’s newest professional sports team begins their first season here in the Capital. I have the honour of throwing out the first pitch to welcome the Rapidz to Ottawa and I offer my best wishes to the team for a great season.
The Ottawa Rapidz is the newest team in the Can/Am Professional Baseball League and join Les Capitales de Quebec as the two Canadian teams in the league.
Playing 48 home games at the beautiful Ottawa Stadium there will be plenty of opportunity to come out and enjoy a great evening or afternoon cheering on our team.
I was pleased to see that we were able to work with the League and the previous tenants to ensure that baseball continues to be a part of life here in Ottawa.
